Rosehip Water II Spell

Rosehip Water II is water that has been brewed to infuse it with the magickal energies of rosehips, also called rose haws or heps. These are the fruit of the rose plant.

Rosehips and Rosehip Water are especially effective in career, good fortune, money, prosperity and success magick.

You can easily craft your own Rosehip Water with the following spell which produces a more potent potion than Rosehip Water I as brewing brings out more of the rosehips’ magickal properties. However, if you’re pressed for time, Rosehip Water I is effective enough for most magick.

  Spell Tips:

• It is important to use organic rosehips, which are grown without pesticides or other chemicals, especially if your Rosehip Water will be ingested, applied to skin, or used in a magickal bath.
• It is equally important to use distilled water as it is contaminant-free which will keep your Rosehip Water fresh longer.
• For an added magickal boost, use organic rosehips from rose plants that you’ve grown yourself.

  Tools & Ingredients:

• 3/4 cup fresh or 1/2 cup dried organic rosehips
• 2 cups of distilled water plus extra for washing if using fresh rosehips
• 1 tablespoon of good quality vodka (optional)
• a saucepan with a lid
• a wooden spoon
• a clean glass jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid or stopper

  The Spell:

1. If using fresh rosehips, go through them and remove any mouldy, mushy, or slimy fruit and then wash them thoroughly with the extra distilled water.
2. Bring 2 cups of distilled water to a boil in the saucepan and then remove from heat.
3. Add the rosehips, pushing them under the water with a wooden spoon.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
5. Allow the rosehips to simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
7. Once cooled, pour the water through a cheesecloth or strainer to into the jar or bottle to separate the rosehips.
8. Squeeze the rosehips in the cheesecloth or press them in the strainer with the wooden spoon to get any remaining liquid from the fruit.
9. If you’re not using your Rosehip Water in a spell right away, add the optional vodka as a stabilizer to keep it fresh for up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator.

  Magickal Uses:

• For a magickal boost, Rosehip Water can be used as a replacement for plain water in career, good fortune, money, prosperity and success spells that call for water.
• It can also be added to a magickal bath to increase its potency.
